A COVID-19 Charity Zine

F O C U S

CURRENT STATUS: Preorders live from December 1 to January 15

About the project

COVID-19 has had a great impact on our lives, mostly negative due to the media's bias.

Our goal is to bring focus to the often overlooked positive occurrences during the pandemic. People reaching out to relatives, investing in hobbies and learning new skills etc. In short, this magazine strives to be the silver lining we all need and to serve as a reminder to be grateful despite the hardships.

By participating or purchasing, not only will you be exposed to positivity, but so will the essential workers and victims too, as all money collected from this project will be donated to Doctors Without Borders who are striving to help during and long after the pandemic ends.

The Mods

We are 3 art students based in Spain who wanted to do something impactful instead of siting passively through the pandemic. You can find all you need about us here.

Zine FAQ

What is the zine's goal?
This is a charity zine where all the funds will go to aiding COVID-19 victims. We hope to with the help of our team or artists and Indiegogo campaign to hit and surpass our goal of 750 euros to be able to make a donation to our charity of choice.
What is the art direction? What will the magazine include?
Our focus, if you will, is on the positive occurrences during the pandemic. The zine will centre on illustrations around themes of family, community and self, along with others that pertain in a positive way to COVID-19, therefore it will not promote NSFW, gory or insensitive content. We look to display only original art, however branded items like TV shows or clothes may be present as props to demonstrate in our every day lives in the art.
When will I be able to purchase the zine? Are you offering anything else?
The zine will be available for preorder on the 1st of December when we launch our Indiegogo campaign. However, this date may change in the future so please follow our social medias for updates! You will have a choice of what to purchase through our perk system that you will be able to see upon the campaign's initiation.

Will contributors be compensated for their work?
Artists will receive a digital bundle of all the work incluiding a physical zine (and any stretch goal merchandise.) Shipping costs will not be incluided!
Can I still donate even if I don't purchase the zine or merchandise?
Absolutely! You will be able to donate any amount when our Indiegogo campaign goes live, regardless of whether you chose a perk or not. You can also donate to our kofi now but you will not recieve any art for your donation there!
How can I get updates about the zine later on in the year?
Make sure to follow our social medias for all future updates! We may also create a mailing list when the campaign launches :)

If you have any other questions feel free to reach out to us via our email ([email protected]) or our social medias.

Charity

We are excited to announce that we have decided to choose Doctors Without Borders (or Médecins Sans Frontièresas) as our charity(due to popular demand from our interest check)!

Based in Switzerland and founded in France, this charity has provided aid to over 70 countries and was awarded the Nobel Peace prize in 1999 for their humanitarian deeds.Their rating on Charity Navigator is 4/4 stars with, 93.91% trustworthiness of financial accountability and transparency.

The aid they provide is international; already actively bringing Coronavirus aid to places like Hong Kong in the form of 3.5 metric tons of protective equipment or intervening in around 100 nursing homes around Spain, so it won't be only Europe that receives support but every place around the world!
